Oppo Reno 10x Zoom

Oppo Reno 10x Zoom | Oppo Reno 10x Zoom Review

Oppo Reno 10x Zoom is the upgrade handset that improves on over the standard Oppo Reno. The series is completely new that offers a lot of features to its users. As most smartphone companies launch different variants of the same model, they choose ‘Plus’ or ‘Pro’ as a tag. But Oppo with the Oppo Reno 10x Zoom takes things in a different direction. Reno 10x Zoom is a flagship device which boasts a lot about its camera setup. Apart from the Huawei P30 pro, the Reno 10x zoom has the ability to zoom 10x with a decent amount of detail.

Design and Display

One of the biggest draws of Reno 10x zoom is the screen that sports a 6.6-inch AMOLED display that’s not broken by a notch at the top. And the bezels are pretty thin as well. The company says the phone has a 93.1% screen-to-body ratio, which makes for an impressive aesthetic. It has a 19.5:9 aspect ratio and is protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 6. The back of the phone has a novel design and the slightly rippled rear creating attractive light patterns. The phone does come with a fingerprint scanner on the front, that is housed beneath the display. It’s a minimal design too, there is no 3.5mm headphone jack, and there’s not even a top speaker (it is hidden in the ‘shark-fin’, although it still works when the fin is down). Shark fin which is the unique part of the design is a pop-up section at the top of the device that emerges when you want to take a selfie.

The smartphone is powered by the octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 processor coupled with 8 GB RAM and Adreno 640 GPU. Reno 10x zoom runs on Android 9 Pie with ColorOS 6. It features 256 GB of internal storage. The storage is also expandable with a microSD card which uses the SIM 2 slot. The performance of the device is quite impressive, not only simple tasks such as browsing the web, or switching between apps is smooth. Even demanding games such as PUBG runs like a charm.

The cameras are one of the biggest selling points of the Reno 10X Zoom. The phone sports a triple camera set up at the back with an 8-megapixel f/2.2 wide-angle lens, a 13-megapixel f/3.0 telephoto lens and a 48-megapixel f/1.7 standard camera. With the latter two also getting optical image stabilisation tech to improve quality of shots in multiple situations. The ultra-wide mode seems impressive with a 120-degree field-of-view. The main camera is capable of shooting 4K videos. On the front, the phone comes with a 16-megapixel f/2.0 unit which is housed on a special shark fin unit that pops up every time you want to take a selfie.

The Oppo Reno 10x Zoom has a 4065mAh battery crammed inside which is gloriously large. Despite the big display, the phone easily lasts a day on a single charge. The phone uses USB Type-C to interact with the VOOC charger, which charges the device quite quick.

Price in Nepal – Rs.89,990 (8+256GB).
